There is one more opportunity for anyone wanting to learn more information about a major bicycle activity coming through Jefferson later this summer.
Jefferson Matters is hosting one final public meeting ahead of when the Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) happens on July 25th. The city of Jefferson is a pass through town on this year’s route and Jefferson Matters Executive Director Matt Wetrich invites any organization or business that is interested in being a vendor to sell food or other items to attend tomorrow night’s meeting.
“We’re kind of tossing the number around of 25,000 bicyclists will be coming through Jefferson. So the way it’s all laying out and shaping up, we expect folks to be stopping for a few minutes in Jefferson and checking out the bell tower and buying food and drinks. We have examples from past years if folks are interested. RAGBRAI does a great job of providing a lot of info from previous years of how things have shaped up, we’re here to pass that along.”
Wetrich anticipates the bulk of the cyclists to be coming through Jefferson between 9am and noon, with the meeting town being at Rippey and the overnight stay later that day in Ames. Tomorrow night’s meeting is at 7pm at the Welcome Center in Jefferson.
