The Jamaica Public Library is getting ready to host the first of a series of Coffee Chats next week.

Library Director Alan Robinson says that they’ll start this set of chats on May 20th with a visit from New Opportunities Problem Gambling Treatment Counselor Dorinda Wehde to discuss the presentation “When is Gaming More Than Just a Hobby?” In this presentation, Wehde will help define the term “gaming disorder” and discuss similarities between playing video games and gambling.

Robinson adds that the presentation will help identify symptoms of problem gambling. The “When is Gaming More Than Just a Hobby” event is free and open to the public, and will begin at 10:30am.
