Greene County has its track & field teams in Ida Grove today for a Class 2A State Qualifying Meet hosted by OABCIG. The Coed State Meet is in Des Moines at Drake Stadium May 18-19-20 and in Class 2A, the State Qualifiers are first and second place finishers at each of the eight qualifying meets, plus the eight best performances statewide that were not first or second.

Greene County has several opportunities on the girls’ side and some on the boys as well. Derek Merk is the coach of the girls and Chad Morton coaches the boys. There will be 12 girls and 12 boys teams at Ida Grove.

Paton-Churdan goes to Madrid for a 1A State Qualifying Meet. There are 12 meets in 1A with the winner of each event being an automatic State Qualifier and the best 12 non-winning performances statewide will also qualify.
