The Perry Bluejays defeated Carroll 10-0 in Class 2A substate 8 semifinal boys soccer Monday night from Jefferson.  The game ended via the mercy rule four minutes into the second half.   Jonatan Banuelos led the way with four goals, while Jacobo Cerna had three goals and senior defensive player Alex Banuelos scored on a penalty kick.   Jonathan Chavez and Sergio Sanchez rounded out the Perry scoring.  Anthony Chavez added three assists.  Perry outshot Carroll 25 to 1.

Perry improves to 10-7 on the season while Carroll closes out the year 6-11.  Perry is now one win away from the state tournament. The Bluejays will host Glenwood at Dewey Field Wednesday night 7:00 for the right to go to state.  The Rams defeated Harlan Monday night 4-1 and enter the substate final 11-3 this season.

“This will be a dog fight as Glenwood is a very good team,” stated Perry Head Coach Gary Overla.   “I thing it will be a great game, vert close and tight.  We would love to have a full house cheering us on for the right to go state.”
