
The road swing continues this week for both the Perry baseball and softball teams tonight when they visit State Center to battle West Marshall. The Bluejays are fresh off a 10 inning marathon victory Monday night in Jewell over South Hamilton 5-4. The win was Perry’s first of the season on a night in which the Bluejays produced a season high 13 hits. West Marshall enters with a 3-0 record and like Perry, won a tight conference game Monday night over Saydel 3-0. The Trojans were one of the favorites on paper to contend for a Heart of Iowa Title. Varsity first pitch is slated for 7:15.
The Perry softball team will look to follow up an impressive debut tonight with a 7:15 varsity game against West Marshall. Maci Tunink was outstanding inside the pitching circle Monday night, striking out a career high 12 batters in tossing the two hit shutout over South Hamilton. West Marshall is 0-1 this year after losing to Saydel on opening night 11-1.
Both Perry teams return home Friday for HOI action with Roland Story.
