The Stuart City Council met in a special meeting Monday night.
The Council approved the addition of projects to the proposed Urban Renewal Plan amendment, and entered three public hearings, but after no written or spoken complaints were brought forward they were quickly closed. They then approved a resolution pertaining to entering into general obligation loan agreements and combining loan agreements.
The Council then heard from City Engineer Forrest Aldrich on the Safe Routes to School project and approved pay application number one to Caliber Concrete, LLC for $2,347.40. They then heard from Stuart Economic Development Director Matt Funk on two businesses submitting applications for Tax Increment Financing (TIF). The Council approved Stuart Enterprises Economic Development (SEED) recommendation for the approval of the Bonnie and Clyde Hideout, LLC’s application, and to gather some additional information for The Cup on 2nd’s application.
