
The ADM girls varsity soccer team is heading to the Iowa State 2A soccer tournament after a 3-1 home win over the Glenwood Rams on Thursday May 26th Class 2A – Region 7 Championship match. ADM fell behind right away in the first half as Glenwood got a goal lead and took a 1-0 lead into halftime. ADM made some halftime adjustments and got themselves prepared for the second half of the match. Junior Helen Kirk scored the first goal of the game for her 14th goal of the season and tied the match up at 1-1. Then Junior Helen Kirk scored her second goal of the match for her 15th goal of the season and that put the ADM Tiger girls in front by a goal with a 2-1 lead in the match. Sophomore Josie Dufoe scored the third and final goal of the match for her 5th goal of the season which secured the 3-1 win for the ADM Tigers. All three goals scored by the ADM Tigers were all unanswered goals. Senior goalkeeper Dani Person did a great job in net and only only allowed one goal on ten saves on the night for the ADM Tigers.
The ADM varsity girls soccer team will now face the Pella Dutch on Wednesday, May 31st at 12:45 pm on field 8 at the James Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines. The ADM Tigers earned the #4 into the Iowa State 2A Soccer Tournament. ADM varsity girls soccer record is currently 12-4 overall on the season heading into the state tournament. The ADM Tigers are currently on a 10 game winning streak. Their last loss was back on April 15th against North Scott in a ADM soccer tournament.
