Greene County girls’ head soccer coach Maribel Hernandez talked about the 2023 season with Raccoon Valley Radio. The Rams went 1-11 on the season and the head coach said she and assistant coach Wes Anderson were very pleased with the performance of the team. “The record might be the same as last year, but we want to emphasize that we scored more goals and we had more shots on goal compared to our previous season.”

The number of players also increased this season to 25. “I have been a part of the program since the beginning and I have never seen that many girls signing up for soccer. This is a good sign that our program is growing . We love the fact that Greene County girls are getting involved and are playing more soccer, so we hope for the best next year.”

Seniors were an important part of the team, but a number of players return and 2024 freshmen will be joining the program.
