With the summer season right around the corner, one organization in Jefferson is looking to bring back live music to the downtown area.

The Thomas Jefferson Gardens of Greene County will host its monthly Summer Concert Series. The first performances happen this Saturday with Todd Partridge and the Weary Ramblers. According to the Thomas Jefferson Gardens Board, Partridge is a solo guitarist that plays mostly wandering music, whiskey gospel and American Roots. He has five albums and performed over 350 live shows with critically acclaimed King Of The Tramps.

The Weary Ramblers play folk music and Jefferson Matters Executive Director Matt Wetrich says the duo, with Chad Elliot on guitar and Kathryn Severing Fox on the fiddle, were recently brought together for this new band.

“So Chad (Elliot) is a touring musician, he does solo stuff, but he has, this last year or so, teamed up with a gal named Kathryn, and they have the Weary Ramblers. She’s an amazing fiddle player (and) she’s an incredible musician, also. I’ve seen them perform a number of times.”

Todd Partridge will perform from 4:30-6pm in the gardens and the Weary Ramblers will be from 6:30-9pm. Food trucks will be on hand from 4:30-9pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own seating, as there is limited space in the gardens area. The Summer Concert Series is free and open to the public.
