The Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach may have some new yet familiar faces.
Summer Youth Coordinators Lily Day and Kenzie Miller are both graduates of Nodaway Valley High School, and were hired for the summer to work at the Extension Office after applying. Day says that working with children is something that she’s interested in, especially as she’s getting ready to attend ISU starting this fall, and looking at some fields that are child related.
Miller tells Raccoon Valley Radio why she decided to apply to work at the Extension.
“I did work experience here first semester, and since I wasn’t an employee, I couldn’t really get my hands on all the things that I saw they were working on, and I thought that it would be fun. So here I am, doing the same things that they were telling me about first semester this year.”
Day and Miller will both be helping with several programs that the Extension hosts throughout the next couple of months.
