There is still time to register to swim with a mermaid in Adel. 

For the first time the Adel Family Aquatic Center will hold an event called “Swim with Mermaids,” from 6 to 8pm tomorrow. Aquatics Supervisor Ramona Dillinger says that this event could help children live out their fantasy of swimming like a mermaid for one evening. 

“They will get a chance to actually swim in the water with mermaids. Visit with them on deck outside the water and they can even rent tails, mermaid tails and learn how to swim with a mermaid tail.”

Dillinger says they will have a few other activities, glitter and mermaid hair for purchase. She encourages attendees to bring their camera. Purchasing a ticket is a requirement and one adult entry is included for every ticket.
