This weekend Stuart will hold its annual town celebration.
Good Egg Days Committee Chair Kari Tisl says that festivities for the Stuart Good Egg Days will begin Friday night, with food vendors opening up at 4pm on the south side of Lawbaugh Park. At 5pm the Stuart American Legion will start serving a meal at the Lawbaugh Park shelter house, and there will be Eggs-press Barrel Train Rides at the basketball court.
Tisl adds that the kiddie parade will begin at 6pm at the southwest corner of the park, along with a bags tournament at Ruby’s Pub and Grill. The kiddie parade will have three age groups, and a theme of “Old McDonald had a Farm.” Also starting at 6 o’clock will be the kiddie water fights hosted by the Stuart Fire Department on the north side of the park.
Tisl mentions the winners of the Little Stinker and Stinkette competition, along with the Grand Marshal and Citizen of the Year will be announced at 6:30pm. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio how nominations for the Little Stinker and Stinkette competition can be turned in.
“They just come in and they sign up on a paper. They want to put their child’s name on a piece of paper, and then we draw and that’s kind of how it goes. So we’ll have a girl and a boy, and then they’ll be in the parade.”
Tisl explains that the baby contest will start at the Lawbaugh Park Gazebo at 7pm, along with kid’s karaoke at Ruby’s Pub and Grill, then at 7:30, the Alumni Baseball Game will start at Jim Kloewer Field. To finish off the night, Ruby’s will host adult karaoke from 9pm-1am.
