Perry ran into tough competition this past weekend at the Roland Story Invitational.  Perry went 0-2 on the opening day falling to Benton 11-0 and ADM 6-0.  The Jayettes lost a thriller on Saturday to Boone 6-5.  Perry’s game with North Polk was rained out.

Perry finished with two hits in the loss to Benton.  Karagyn Whelchel and Emmalee Bell provided singles.  Maci Tunink allowed 13 hits and 8 earned runs inside the circle.

The offense stayed quiet in the loss to ADM.  Perry had two hits once again with Kathryn West and Taylor Atwell providing singles. Tunink struck out three over six innings and survived a rough first inning that saw ADM jump out to a quick 3-0 lead.  Perry played error free softball.

In the final game of the weekend, Boone pushed across the winning run in extra innings to hold off Perry 6-5.  The game was decided in the eighth inning.  The offense picked up for Perry as the Jayettes pounded out eight hits.   Lydia Olejniczak, Emmalee Bell and Ava Devilbliss-Sholley led the offense with two hits each.  Devilbliss-Sholley finished with 3 RBI’s.  Perry committed four costly errors in the field.  Tunink allowed only two earned runs over eight innings.
