
We continue to look at season statistics with the AC/GC Chargers baseball and softball players. For the baseball team junior Tegan Slaybaugh played and started in 19 games, recording 61 at bats, 9 runs, 13 hits, 10 singles, 3 doubles, 12 RBI’s and 2 sacrifice bunts. He also tallied 4 walks, was hit by the pitcher 4 times, reached on error 6 times and was struck out 5 times. Slaybaugh had a .213 batting average, .304 on base percentage and .276 slugging percentage. When it came to base running, he attempted 6 steals and was successful 5 times.
In the fielding category, Slaybaugh grabbed 30 assists, 24 putouts, 5 errors, 59 total chances and a fielding percentage of .915. He pitched 10.1 innings for a pitch count of 196 against 50 batters for an opposing batting average of .280. Slaybaugh allowed 14 hits and 13 runs, 9 of which were earned, walked 7 batters and hit one, allowing 2 sacrifices, and striking out 14 batters for an ERA of 6.1 and 2.03 walks and hits per inning pitched.
For the softball team, sophomore Paige Van Meter started 3 of the 17 games she played in, recording 20 at bats for 8 runs, 3 hits which were all singles and 4 RBI’s. She was walked 5 times, hit by pitch once, reached on error once and struck out 5 times for 3 total bases. Van Meter recorded a .150 batting and slugging average and .346 on base percentage. In the fielding category she was responsible for 7 putouts and 4 errors for 11 total chances and a .636 fielding percentage.
