The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board approved at their latest meeting in July to improve a tool that helps them evaluate their athletic coaches.
ADM Superintendent Greg Dufoe says that the Board approved Athletic Director Rob Wiebers’ request to update their high school, middle school and assistant coach evaluation forms to meet all the requirements for the “National Standard for Sport Coaches,” core responsibilities. Dufoe explains more about the tool they use to evaluate coaches mid year and after the season.
“It’ll range everything from building culture all the way up into the realm of the technical side of coaching, developing practice plans and keeping up to date on current innovations in that sport, etcetera. So it kind of runs the full range of the things that a coach’s role entails.”
Dufoe says that this allows the athletic director to give effective feedback to coaches.
