Heads up for Jefferson residents and motorists who travel on Lincoln Way, road construction will soon be happening.
Jefferson Public Works Director Dave Morlan tells Raccoon Valley Radio starting this coming Monday at 7am Fort Dodge Asphalt will be resurfacing West Lincoln Way from Highway 4 to Grimmell Road. Morlan says during the project, motorists will not be able to access West Lincoln Way, which means parking on the street will be prohibited. Additionally, residents who live on that street will not be able to use their driveways or alleyways. Everyone is urged to park on the side streets.
Morlan says the project entails the contractor grinding down two inches of the current roadway and applying two inches of asphalt on top. He adds that Fort Dodge Asphalt will be working from 7am-7pm daily during the week of July 17th. Barricades will also be in place at every intersection as the project happens.
