The AC/GC Chargers are in practice mode until fall sports begin, so we’ll take a look at season statistics for the baseball and softball teams. The baseball team recorded 588 at bats, 118 runs, 126 hits, 99 singles, 20 doubles, 6 triples and 1 home run. They also tallied 88 RBI’s 8 sacrifice bunts, 2 sacrifice flys, were walked 93 times, hit by pitches 50 times, reached on error 31 times, and were struck out 171 times for 161 total bases. The team had a .214 batting average, .367 on base percentage and .274 slugging percentage.

The team as a whole attempted to steal bases 116 times, and was successful on 58 of those tries. In fielding, the team had 140 assists, 457 putouts, 81 errors, 678 total chances, a fielding percentage of .881, threw out 6 runners attempting to steal a base, and allowed 116 stolen bases. For the pitching statistics, the team chalked up 68 appearances, 1 save, 152 innings pitched and an opponent batting average of .272. The team threw 3088 pitches against 683 batters, allowed 186 hits, 230 runs of which 129 were earned, walked 142 batters, hit 47, and allowed 13 sacrifices for an ERA of 5.94 and struck out 141 batters with 2.16 walks and hits per inning pitched.

The softball team recorded 692 at bats, 133 runs, 182 hits, 136 singles, 40 doubles, 4 triples and 2 home runs. They also tallied 116 RBI’s, 4 sacrifice bunts, 3 sacrifice flys, were walked 88 times, hit by pitches 11 times, reached on error 52 times, and were struck out 135 times for 236 total bases. The team had a .263 batting average, .354 on base percentage and .341 slugging percentage.

The team as a whole were able to steal bases 18 times. In fielding, the team had 195 assists, 485 putouts, 66 errors, 746 total chances, a fielding percentage of .912, threw out 4 runners attempting to steal a base, and allowed 71 stolen bases. For the pitching statistics, the team chalked up 39 appearances, 162.2 innings pitched and an opponent batting average of .326. The team threw 2875 pitches against 748 batters, allowed 244 hits, 199 runs of which 138 were earned, walked 96 batters, hit 14 , and allowed 2 sacrifices for an ERA of 5.94 and struck out 89 batters with 2.09 walks and hits per inning pitched.
