There will be an informative presentation on the 90th anniversary of the Barrow Gang capture in Dallas County this weekend.

Rod Stanley will retell the story of Bonnie and Clyde and the capture of the Barrow Gang at the Dexter Museum from 1 to 3pm on Sunday. Stanley says he will tell the story of how the gang traveled from Platte City, Missouri to find refuge at the Dexfield Amusement Park in Dexter. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that this has been a widely popular event in the past.

These people were outlaws, that’s the thing we have to remember too, it’s not like we’re glorifying them, but it is this event that is a pretty significant part of Dexter’s history. I mean, as far as being known for it, we have a lot of people who come to the museum every year that basically want to know about Bonnie and Clyde and the park shootout and the Dexfield Park shootout and more people for that than any other thing.”

Stanley says the program will start at 1:30pm and last 45 minutes. Admission is free for everyone and refreshments will be available.
