Kale Petersen finished second among 130 wrestlers at 132 lbs. in the Jr. freestyle division on Wednesday in the Fargo Dome in Fargo, ND at the US Marines USA Wrestling National Tournament. It’s one of the most prestigious high school wrestling events in the country.

Petersen, a 2023 Greene County High School graduate who wrestles for Sebolt Academy in Jefferson is a U. of Iowa recruit. He lost 8-0 in the finals to Kyler Larkin of AZ. Larkin is ranked eighth nationwide and Petersen is ranked tenth. Petersen won his first six matches in Fargo including a 9-6 victory in the semifinals on Wednesday morning vs. a Pennsylvania wrestler.
