A familiar face is the new athletic director for West Central Valley.

Jim Lindsay, a teacher for the school district and the head football coach, was recommended for the position after applying for it, and at the June School Board Meeting, the Board voted to approve his appointment to the position. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio what he’s been doing in his first month as the AD.

“Finding out all the little behind the scenes things that most people don’t see and how things get organized and stuff. It’s been a pretty good couple of weeks of learning for me, but yeah, other than that, it’s going fairly well.”

Lindsay mentions that previous AD Ethan Calvert helped get the wheels in motion to set West Central Valley down a road that’s been improving the programs at the school, and he plans to keep going that direction. He adds that for the most part he plans to just learn the ins and outs of the position, but may make a few changes along the way as well.
