The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.

The Board approved a request to put up memorial signage on Iowa Highway 4 from Highway 30 to Highway 141. The majority of the route is in Greene County, but a short portion of the route is in Guthrie County as well, starting at Highway 141 and running a few miles north. They also heard from County Assessor Nikki Carrick, and approved several applications for different tax credits and exemptions.

There were recommendations from Carrick’s office on which applications to approve, and which ones to deny, and all motions were approved unanimously. The Board then heard briefly from County Engineer Josh Sebern with an update on the grant application process for funds to work on White Pole Road. He said that they were seeking letters of support for the project from several entities on local, state and federal levels to include with the application, to help better their chances. He will be drafting a letter to send to the Board, and they will send it to the Governor’s Office.
