The Adel Sweet Corn Festival is coming up, and there will be a sporting event people can form a team and take part in. 

The festival will have a sand volleyball coed tournament starting at noon on August 12th at Evans Park in Adel. The tournament will require a team of six individuals, who are above the age of 18-years-old, to sign up for the cost of $100. Tournament Director and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Head Volleyball Coach Trevor Irwin says all the benefits from the tournament will support their program. 

“We had six teams last year participate in the volleyball tournament and with their help, we were able to purchase multiple things for our program and for our student athletes, such as we got new net tape for the top of our nets. We got custom volleyball padding to go on our poles for our home matches. Then we even got this was our year to purchase uniforms. And with the sand volleyball tournaments’ help, we were able to purchase uniforms for every single member of our team.”
