
Three rounds of severe weather Saturday night brought live coverage with Raccoon Valley Radio’s Severe Weather Action Team.
The National Weather Service issued the first severe thunderstorm warning at 9:52pm for northeastern Greene County until 10:30pm. A second severe thunderstorm warning was issued at 10pm for Greene and Guthrie counties, and northwestern Dallas County until 10:15pm. The final severe thunderstorm warning was issued at 10:15pm for Greene, Guthrie and Dallas counties, which expired at 10:43pm.
All three warnings involved the same primary threats of heavy rainfall and strong winds. Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Coordinator Bob Kempf and Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams confirmed the threats with no reports of injuries or property damage.
There were five Raccoon Valley Radio staff, along with Weatherology, Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office involved in the Severe Weather Action Team coverage. Raccoon Valley Radio provides live coverage anytime there is a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning issued for Greene, Guthrie and Dallas counties.
