Another first weekend of August has passed, and another Panorama Days has finished, until next year.
Panorama Days 2023 was a wild one, with several fun events going on. From a selfie stand, to a street dance, from two fishing tournaments to a ski show, there was plenty going on for all to enjoy. Saylor Allspach was named Little Miss Panorama Days and Carter Deardorff was named Little Mister Panorama Days, while Kirby Kling was named Citizen of the Year. Panora City Councilmember Curtis Thornberry shares his favorite part of Panorama Days.
“Well, I’ve been announcing the parade now for, I don’t know, over ten years. And I really enjoy seeing that. Not only our city services like the fire (department) and the police and EMS, but I also like seeing so many different businesses, so many other kinds of nonprofit organizations that support this community. You can kind of showcase them all in this event here.”
Thornberry says he believes that the current Panorama Days truly captures the spirit of the community like the first organizers of the event in the 1970’s wanted to, and brings members of the town and the lake together in celebration.
