The Greene County School District has released information regarding bus routes and transportation for the 2023-24 school year.

The district has announced that some bus stop locations have been changed. All bus stops along Westwood Drive have been combined to one location at Hickory, while the stops near the water tower have also been consolidated to one location at Head Park. Two other bus stops have been eliminated, and those include Lincoln Way and Cedar Street, as well as Elm and Grauer Streets. The bus stop location at Elm and Monroe Streets will be available only upon request for high school students who live less than one mile from the high school.

All students who live less than one mile from their building that they attend will no longer be picked up for busing. The exception is if a student going to a daycare on the bus route is eligible to ride the bus. The district says these decisions were made due to a shortage of bus drivers and overcrowding of students.

Additionally, the district will not provide transportation to personal activities or any other kinds of activities that are not school related. The families that have requested and are eligible for busing can use the Stopfinder app for basic bus information. Once the app is active again, those who do not yet have a Stopfinder account will receive an invitation email to set one up from the app. Anyone with questions can contact Jill Lamoureux at the district office, at 515-386-4168.
