With the fall kickoff event for all Perry fall sports set for this upcoming Friday at Perry High School, Perry volleyball coach and athletic director Katelyn Whelchel talked about the upcoming “blue and white scrimmage” that the volleyball team will be having during the event. She said the scrimmage is one of the things she looks forward to the most every year.
“As the head volleyball coach, I really look forward to the blue and white scrimmage that we hold. It’s a great opportunity for us to get a complete showcase of our student athletes. What we will do is we will split kids up and provide a variety of different level and skill across our team to make it a competitive experience for our kids, and to also give parents an opportunity to watch their kid play before the season starts,” said Whelchel.
The athletic fall kickoff event will begin at 5 PM on Friday at the high school with the blue and white scrimmage. The gates will then open at Dewey Field at 6, followed by the announcement of high school fall activity participants at 6:30. The night will then round out at 7 PM when the football team faces Woodward-Granger in their scrimmage. Take the family out for a fun night at Perry High School and get your spirit on for the start of the 2023 fall sports season.
