Jefferson residents are encouraged to participate in a bi-annual event to get rid of certain items from their household tomorrow.
The Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off will take place from 9-11am Saturday on the north side of the downtown square in Jefferson. Items that Jefferson residents can dispose of during that time include aerosol cleaners and paints, antifreeze, oil and lead-based paints, fluorescent light bulbs, stains and varnishes, sharps and needles that are in containers, among other items. Items that won’t be accepted include fire extinguishers, latex paint, propane tanks and cylinders, among other items.
