Greene County volleyball was involved in its final scrimmage on Saturday in preparation for Tuesday’s season opening action. Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s Rams played in Rockwell City yesterday in the South Central Calhoun scrimmage at the Titans’ middle school. SCC, Carroll, Glidden-Ralston, and others were involved.

The Rams travel to Dallas Center-Grimes High School on Tuesday to face the host Mustangs, along with Mason City and Ballard (Huxley). This edition of Ram volleyball has more than 30 girls out for the sport, but just two seniors in Gracie Cooklin and Kaylee Stalder. Other letter winners from the 2022 team that went 16-11 also are back. The Rams open the home portion of the schedule on Aug. 24 inside the air-conditioned Greene County High School gym in Jefferson vs. Ft. Dodge St. Edmond.
