As we become closer to the beginning of the season, we at the Raccoon Valley Radio Network,  are shining the spotlight on one of Your notable senior athletes – Mia Waddle. A  triple threat in cross country, basketball, and soccer, Mia’s readiness and persistance set her apart.

Mia’s sports idols, Mia Hamm and Alex Morgan, reflect her own determination to succeed. When its time to get focused, you’ll find her tuned into “Bestfriend” by Saweetie, a song that captures her competitive spirit.

Pregame rituals come in many forms, and for Mia, it’s about consistency – wearing the same clothes every game, a superstition that has proven itself time and time again.

As she enters her senior year, Mia has her sights set on impressive goals. From seeking another state appearance in cross country to aiming for a basketball state championship and a soccer state berth, her ambitions are nothing short of inspiring. During it all, Mia wants her final year enjoyable and memorable.

In her high school journey, influential coaches have played pivotal roles. Coach Waddle’s unwavering belief, Coach Boettcher’s guidance beyond sports, Coach Dahlhauser’s positivity, and Coach Thompson’s encouragement have shaped Mia’s growth both as an athlete and an individual.

Representing her school has been a cherished privilege for Mia. Through her sports journey, she has created memories that will last a lifetime.

Mia’s favorite sport memory was reaching the state basketball tournament last year. Sharing the court with lifelong teammates, since the 3rd grade, that moment displayed years of hard work and camaraderie.

Mia Waddle is more than an athlete – she’s a dynamic individual. The youngest of three, a golf course grounds crew member, and a future pre-PT student at Iowa State University, Mia embraces passion, hard work, and determination.

As the season unfolds, let’s celebrate Mia’s accomplishments, spirit, and unwavering dedication to both sports and life beyond.
