With the swimming season beginning this week on Thursday for the Perry Girls Swim team, I talked with Perry head coach Jean Dowd about their upcoming meet against Algona on Thursday. She said that being in their home pool at the McCreary Community Building will bode well for the Jayettes as they begin the upcoming season.
“They get to start in their home pool and that is going to be a big advantage for those who are new to high school swimming, so we want to be able to focus on that. We’ve been talking about some events that we would like to try, so I think it is going to be an exciting season.
The meet will begin at 6:30 on Thursday at the McCreary Community Building. Perry is trying to make it two in a row against Algona in the meet coming up, as they won the meet against the Bulldogs last year, 88-55.
