
Greene County plays in a varsity volleyball quadrangular starting at 5 p.m. today at Dallas Center-Grimes High School. Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s Rams open the season against a trio of Class 4A programs in the host Mustangs, Ballard (Huxley), and Mason City.
Greene County went 16-11 in 2022 while DC-G was 20-17, Ballard 17-14, and Mason City 15-21. The Rams will be seeking a third straight winning season and have two seniors on the team in Gracie Cooklin and Kaylee Stalder, plus other letter winners from a season ago.
The home schedule for the Rams starts this Thursday, Aug. 24 in the high school in Jefferson vs. Ft. Dodge St. Edmond. JV2 plays the Gaels at 5 p.m. with JV at 5:50 p.m., and then the varsity match. All of Thursday’s action will be on one court.
