The West Central Valley volleyball team will open their 2023 season tonight at West Central Valley High School against their conference rival, the Panorama Panthers. The match will start at 7 PM. The Wildcats were 6-3 a season ago in the West Central conference, and 17-12 overall. That placed them in third total in the conference standings trailing only Van Meter and Des Moines Christian. It was a solid season for the volleyball team and they will look to continue that this upcoming season, and that will all start tonight against Panorama. Sophomores Meleah Speichinger and Macy Long were key players for last years team. Speichinger had 105 kills on the season in 25 matches played. Macy Long had 13 kills in 16 matches played for the Wildcats a season ago. It was a deep senior class for West Central Valley in the 2022 season. The expectation for those two will most definitely be raised as they go into their matchup with Panorama tonight to open the season.
