With the end of the summer season coming and the start of the fall season coming on the way, Greene County ISU Extension is offering a class to help prolong some of that summer produce.
A “Dehydrating Foods” class will be held on Tuesday, August 29th from 5:30-7:30pm at the Greene County Extension Office in Jefferson. Participants will learn the basics of drying foods to preserve and use for later and also learn some new ideas for drying foods. There will also be an opportunity to taste a variety of dried foods. ISU Extension Human Sciences Food and Health Specialist Renee Sweers will lead the workshop.
There is no cost to attend, but registration is encouraged by contacting the Greene County Extension Office at 515-386-2138 or stop in to sign up.
