Tomorrow is the final day for one Greene County swimming pool and there’s going to be a party-like atmosphere before it closes for the year.
Grand Junction City Council member and parks and recreation committee member Paula Hoskinson invites everyone to the Glow Swim/Appreciation Event tomorrow from 6-9pm at the Grand Junction Municipal Pool. Hoskinson told the Greene County Board of Supervisors at their August 14th meeting that this year was one of the best in terms of attendance. She also spoke about all of the renovations and grants that they have received in previous years, including a Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation grant for new stairs into the pool, as well as lifeguard chairs, a donation for a new deep freezer and refrigerator.
The Supervisors also approved $2,500 of Louis Dreyfus funds to be used toward purchasing old and outdated filters for the pool.
Tomorrow’s event is free and open to the public. Attendees will get free glow sticks and the Grand Junction Lions Club will be grilling and serving free hotdogs. The pool will then be closed for the rest of the year following the event.
