It’s the middle of the Guthrie County Fair, and the number of fun events continues to rise.

The 4-H Foodstand will be open from 7am to noon with some good food for breakfast and lunch, and the Fair 5k Run will start at 8am, alongside the working dogs competition in the horse arena. The Swine Jackpot Open Class will show at 9am, and the Guthrie County Fair Parade will start at 10am. A sand volleyball tournament will begin at 11:30am, while free carnival rides will open up at noon and stay open until 10pm.

At 12:30pm, the 4-H /FFA Poultry Show will begin, followed by the Open Class, and antique farm demonstrations will start at 1pm at the south end of the fairgrounds. An art class taught by Cathy Ballard and paper crafts taught by Judy Zimmerline will be held in the Art Hall from 2-4pm, with the 4-H/FFA Rabbit Show starting at 4pm to be followed by the Open Class show in the show ring. 2023 Guthrie County Fair Queen Kiersten Knobbe shares one of her favorite parts about the fair.

“Personally, I like attending the Grandstand events at the fair, if I’m not busy showing. The rodeo is always a classic, I’ve gone to that for years, so that’s always fun.”

The free Grandstand event for the night is Outlaw Truck and Tractor Pulling starting at 5:30pm, and the 4-H/FFA Pet Show will start at 6:30pm, with the Open Class to follow. A full list of events can be found on the Guthrie County Fair website at https://www.guthriecountyfair.com/flyer-p-2.
