The Bluejays fell on the gridiron last night to the Greene County Rams in the 93rd edition of the cow bell game, 55-14. The Bluejays were without one of their leaders, senior running back Keegan Snyder, for the majority of the game which didn’t exactly bode well for Perry down the stretch of this one. Perry fell down early 14-0 in the game after both a rushing touchdown and touchdown pass by senior Ram quarterback Gabe Ebersole. The Bluejays did hang tough however, as they had an answer for Greene County all first half. They cut the lead to 17-14 after a touchdown pass by junior quarterback Geren Kenney as he found Eric Lagos in the endzone. It looked as if the Bluejays had a chance in the game as they trailed just 20-14 going into the locker room.

But boy was the second half a different story. It was an ugly 3rd quarter for the Bluejays. Perry didn’t have an answer for the Green County Rams defensively all throughout the second half. After trailing just 20-14 at halftime, Perry found themselves staring at a 41-14 hole by the end of the 3rd quarter. Kenney had a couple of interceptions as well in the second half that didn’t help the Bluejays either. The second half was all Rams as they rolled to victory 55-14. The Rams regain control of the Cow Bell for another season.

Both teams now currently stand at 1-1 going into Week 3. Perry will look to regroup following a tough loss as they head back home next week to take on the Ogden Bulldogs. For Greene County, they will head back home as well and face the Atlantic Trojans next week.
