The Greene County New Opportunities Back to School Supply Drive once again helped several youth in the community.

Greene County New Opportunities Coordinator Teresa Lansman says they served 187 school-age kids this year with needed school supplies. Lansman points out that they teamed up with Jefferson Telecom again, which collected about 500 items, along with a grant through Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson in support of the children of Greene County.

Lansman notes that she has additional school items at her office in case new children move into the community and need supplies and she is contacting the different school buildings in the county to inquire if students need any more supplies. She thanks everyone who donated to their collection site at Jefferson Telecom and directly to her office because without the generous support of the community, this program would not be as successful as it is.
