The Menlo Public Library will be hosting a special event soon.
On September 15th at 5:30pm, the library will have Iowa Law Enforcement Academy Human Trafficking Instructor Jacqueline White as a guest speaker to discuss the fight against human trafficking. Librarian Julie says that she reached out to the ILEA after the topic had been discussed at a Library Board meeting. The discussion started after the popularity of the movie “Sound of Freedom” had been brought up, and with Menlo’s proximity to Interstate 80, Julie and some of the Board members thought it would be a good idea to cover the topic. The event will have an open format for a Q&A segment after the presentation, and is free and open to the public.
