The ADM men’s cross country team, led by Head Coach Josh  Chapman, ran their third race on Saturday. Coach Chapman has implemented a strategy to enhance mental preparedness among the athletes by pairing them with training partners. As Coach Chapman explains, “I do group them up into groups that are teammates that are running similar pace and so that they can push each other and during those workouts stimulating the races. They got to be competitive and we encourage that competitive environment in practice just to keep that sharp when it comes to actually competing against the other teams.”

By reviewing the teams recent performances Coach Chapman’s meet plan is to help his athletes reach their full potential. By emphasizing both mental preparation and strategic adjustments, the Tigers cross country team is to continue their progress as they work collectively towards their goals. “The first two meets we focused on getting out and getting out hard on that first mile and getting in a good position, because I noticed that the last mile we kind of struggled in the first 2 races. the focus is to really on the 3rd mile this week to make sure were not getting passed in that last mile but that we are doing the passing.”

The ADM Tiger’s next race will be this Saturday on September 16 at Hillcrest Country Club. Hosted by the Tigers themselves.
