Both the West Central Valley boys and girls cross country teams competed in the Ram Invitational at Greene County Middle School this past Saturday morning. The girls placed in 2nd overall in the field as a team behind IKM-Manning. Taitlin Koch won the race and finished in first place overall for the Wildcats with a 5k time of 22:17. Dallas Morgan and Zalina Morse were the next gals to cross the finish line for West Central Valley. Morgan had a time of 25:52 while Morse ran a 26:20. Morgan and Morse finished in 7th and 8th place respectively.

For the boys, they finished in 4th place overall behind Southeast Valley, IKM-Manning, and Greene County. Cael Hazen, Cayden Guisinger, and Kiernan Hutton were among the top finishers for West Central Valley. Hazen ran a 21:26 and came in 12th place overall, leading all Wildcats. Guisinger wasn’t too far behind as he finished the race in 23:14 and was in 22nd place overall. Lastly, Hutton was the next guy in line as he finished with a 24:49 and in 28th place.

It was a solid meet for both the boys and girls. They will have a week off to rest up and will be back in action on Monday, September 18th in the ADM Tiger Invitational at Hillcrest Country Club.
