
A Jefferson man was sentenced to jail time for an incident that happened last month.
According to court documents, 24-year-old Kyle Rysavy pled guilty to an amended charge of a serious misdemeanor for assault causing bodily injury. He was sentenced to 30 days in the Greene County Jail with credit for time already served.
The charge stemmed from a physical altercation on August 8th at Rysavy’s home in the 700 block of West Harrison Street. The victim told officers Rysavy’s mood changed as he was talking to the victim and a friend and he placed his arm on the victim’s throat and his other hand on their mouth making it hard for the victim to breath4
Court documents show that Rysavy was also ordered to pay over $500 in court-appointed attorney fees and court costs. The original charge was a Class D Felony for domestic abuse assault, strangulation with bodily injury, but as per the plea agreement, Rysavy pled guilty to the lesser charge of the misdemeanor.
