It’s National Library Card Sign Up Month, and Guthrie County libraries are adding some incentives to draw residents in.
National Library Card Sign Up Month has been around for a long time, since 1987 according to the American Library Association. As technology has progressed, libraries have widened the number and amount of services they can offer. From online books and magazines, to hot spot rentals, newspaper archives, genealogy services, and much more, there are many opportunities available to those using a library card at their local library. To help celebrate the month, and encourage residents to sign up for a library card, the Stuart Public Library will be entering the names of those who renew or sign up for their card into a drawing on October 1st for a large pizza, and the Panora Public Library will be doing the same, but the drawing prize is a $20 gift card to Crafty’s Coffee.
