Iowa Auditor Rob Sand stopped in Guthrie County Wednesday.
Sand held a town hall meeting with residents at Mitchell Park in Guthrie Center, saying that he did the town halls to report to his “bosses,” the voters, which earned some laughs. After spending a few minutes talking about his past, and how he decided to run for Auditor, he spent the remaining time taking questions, and answering them.
With 11 residents attending, questions on the new rules for homestead exemption were brought up, along with private school vouchers, and a proposal to disband over 100 State Boards. Much discussion was included along with the answers for the questions, and everything was discussed civilly for the hour Sand was in town. Sand then traveled to Adair and Madison Counties to have town hall meetings there as well.
