Greene County ISU Extension is offering a free class about cutting-edge technology and how to better use it for our personal and professional lives.
Greene County Extension Farm Management Specialist Alexis Stevens is leading a discussion on Friday about Artificial Intelligence (AI) from 9:30-11am at the Extension Office in Jefferson. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio there are over 5,000 AI applications and people are using some of them to a certain extent, possibly without knowing it.
“But we’re going to really focus on the AI tools that can be time savers, so AI time scheduling, emails, (and) writing improvements.”
Stevens will also go over concerns with AI and has this advice for individuals who can’t make her program how to better handle AI.
“I would really strongly encourage anyone who listens to this that on the internet everything that you do is something that is ethical and something that is positive because AI is out there already learning from us, and they’re learning how to behave as a human, and then it’ll make its decisions. So if we don’t want it to decide to destroy us, we should probably not teach it that we should be destroyed.”
Stevens also welcomes attendees to bring their questions and how they have used AI to help others who participate in the program. Registration for the event is appreciated but not required.
