Greene County Development Corporation invites all Greene County and surrounding residents to a special event next week.
GCDC is hosting an annual event at Wild Rose Casino Greene Room Events Center on Monday at 6pm. GCDC Executive Director Ken Paxton tells Raccoon Valley Radio the changes they made to this year’s program.
“In the past that annual presentation was divided into two parts. We had a short business meeting at the first part and then we opened it up for presentations and kind of updates after that. What we’re going to do now is we’re going to separate that business meeting, take it out of that annual event, so that just leaves the event itself. And that event, for the first time ever, is going to be open to the public. And right now I’d like to make sure that I invite everybody in our community to attend our event.”
Paxton says attendees can enjoy free cocktails and appetizers from 6-6:30pm and the program about what GCDC did the previous year and what is happening this year will follow at 6:30pm. He points out some of the speakers include Kading Properties CEO Karie Ramsey, who will talk about the rental housing project in the GCDC East Business Park; a presentation on the City of Jefferson being designated as one of 11 Iowa Thriving Communities, along with information on the Multicultural Family Resource Center, and some new businesses that started recently.
Monday’s event is free and open to the public.
