The Guthrie Center City Council met in regular session Monday night.

The Council approved a liquor license for the Little Charger Early Learning Center, the second readings of ordinances pertaining to amending alcoholic beverages, cigarette and tobacco permits and fiscal management, and also waived the third and final reading for each ordinance to adopt them. They also approved the first reading of ordinances pertaining to repealing registration of all-terrain and utility-terrain vehicles within the city, and making North Eighth Street from North Street to Bluff Street a no parking zone.

The Council then heard from Karla Janning on Region XII Council of Governments updates, including their Acquisition Rehab and Workforce Housing Tax Credit program. Mayor Mike Herbert mentioned that the city would most likely be very interested in taking part in either program. The Council also heard an update on city liability, property/casualty insurance, and approved staying with the same plan and deductible as last year.
