One of the final spectacles in the sky for the year is happening tonight and Greene County residents have an opportunity to take it in.
According to the Farmers Almanac, the Harvest Full Moon will be in the sky tonight after sunset. It is also the fourth and final “supermoon” of the year as well. Local astronomy expert from Jefferson is Drew Sorenson, who will have a high powered telescope set up for public viewing at All Abilities Cycle shop on East Lincoln Way in Jefferson. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio he is planning to be set up between 7:30 and 8pm tonight if people want to stop out and get an up close glimpse of the moon. Additionally, Sorenson points out Saturn will also be visible by 8:30pm.
According to the National Weather Service, skies will be mostly clear tonight. Click the link below for updates on his Facebook page.
