Dallas Center-Grimes football shut down one of the best offenses in the state and one player really made an impact in doing so.
Senior Jimmy Seeman as a defensive back had eight total tackles and seven solo tackles in a win 17 to 7 over Norwalk. The Warriors are leading Class 4a in a wide margin in passing yards with over 1,600. Seeman was assigned to cover Eli Robbins who is fourth in the class 4a in receiving yards with over 600. Robbins was held to six catches for 20 yards. Head Coach Scott Heitland says that senior Jimmy Seeman was an unsung hero in the victory.
“He was phenomenal. He was if you watched him and you were there, you saw he was chasing all night, right? He was wherever Eli Robins went and he’s one of the best receivers in the state right now in our class. To Jimmy, we basically said you need to take him wherever he goes. And I will give that young man a ton of credit. And he came up and if he caught the ball, he went down. If he made a catch, Jimmy was all over him. His tackling was solid. His just effort and his attention to detail throughout the week was great. And we didn’t give up a home run play to that individual on Friday night.”
The defense for Dallas Center-Grimes has been excellent this season only giving up an average of 10 points per game while providing 15 takeaways, 26 tackles for loss and eight sacks. The Mustangs will take on the Glenwood Rams at 7pm on Friday in Glenwood. That game can be heard on KDLS\-2, our mobile stream. Full conversation with Head Coach Scott Heitland will be linked here.
