A new production with History Boy Theatre Company in Jefferson is currently underway.
Co-Director and Producer Samantha Pedersen-Schmidt says “The Bridges of Madison County” is a fictional story about a wife who falls in love with a photographer when her family goes on a trip to the state fair. She points out that there are over 30 moving set pieces as well.
“It makes it the biggest project we have ever done. Honestly (Co-Director) Robby (Pedersen) has been like a genius. The way that he has reimagined this show, it’s just so smart and we are really, really proud of it. We have a replica of the Roseman Bridge built in our theater. It’s like, I believe, a two-thirds scale. It’s breath-taking and amazing.”
Pedersen-Schmidt says another new aspect is two individuals playing the lead role of Francesca, with Jennfier Throckmorton and Kelsey Dinkla. The other cast members are listed below. The first show was last night and there are three more evening performances including tonight, as well as next Friday and Saturday at 7pm, and two Sunday matinees including tomorrow and next Sunday at 2pm. Tickets are $20 per person and $10 for students. Contact Pedersen-Schmidt at 515-370-5369, online by clicking the link below or you can purchase tickets at the door.
