Greene County is no longer under a burn ban. 

Greene County Sheriff Jack Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio the county-wide burn ban has been lifted. He says if a rural resident is planning to do a controlled burn to contact the Law Enforcement Center non-emergency number at 515-386-2155. The caller should provide the date and approximate time frame of when the burn will occur. Williams also recommends not burning when it is windy outside to prevent other materials from catching fire. Jefferson residents are also allowed to openly burn yard waste as well. 

The burn ban has been in place since September 5th.
